Our history

Moi Forces Academy-Mombasa started in 2001 when the premises were acquired by the Kenya Navy from the Kenya Ports Authorities. The school is a mixed day and boarding County school admitting students mainly from the Navy fraternity and the surrounding environ. It is a six streamed school that has been doing well academically and even in co-curricular activities. It is one among the Forces schools sponsored by the Kenya Defense Forces started specifically to offer educational services to the children of the members of the Kenya Defense forces.

The school is located in Mombasa County, Likoni Sub County, Longo Division, Mtongwe sub-location. It is built on a 10-acre plot as part of the Mtongwe Navy base. It is situated off the Mtongwe Likoni road. It is on the south coast region of the Kenya coast. The School community comprises of members of the Kenya Defense Forces and the local area population. The Defense forces community is highly enlightened and zealous about education. However, the local area population is generally financially disadvantaged. The main economic activity of the local community apart from defense officers is mainly fishing, small scale farming and small business enterprises.
